When Al Capone was in his early twenties he was recruited to move to Chicago. He put himself in the position to be the next in line to be the head a Chicago crime syndicate. When his boss Johnny Torrio was shot multiple times he retired and it was Capone's time to be the boss. When Al Capone took over the gang skyrocketed. He hit the bootlegging business very hard using violent tactics. He would overall have an agreement with the other bootleggers to split up the distribution to avoid some violence and to still make money. He would pretty much force most bars to buy his beer by telling them to buy it and if they didn't he would blow up their bar and then pay to fix it, forcing them to buy his beer because they are in debt to him. These are the types of strategies he would use to get business. Nobody would mess with Al Capone. He was extremely loyal, and believed in loyalty to be the biggest virtue. He would kill anyone who tried to hurt any of his men or would kill any of his men who would betray him. He led with an iron fist and a smart strategy. He would kill anyone who stood in his path to the top. He took his company straight to the top. He took out all of the competition, and made his gang into a mid size corporation. Al Capone's business brought in about 105 million dollars a year. His average day was in an office building answering calls like an average CEO of a company. Al Capone introduced the first modern day gangster. His leadership turned his gang into a big corporation. Al Capone was the most famous gangster of his time and now using his leadership to turn his gang into the biggest and most powerful gang in the roaring twenties.
Legacy
Al Capone is the greatest gangster to ever live. He rose in the ranks in a Chicago gang and became the boss. When he became the boss he started his legacy as a man who had a vision and would do anything to reach it. When you hear the people who lived talk about Al Capone they talked of a man who you did not stand in his way. Al Capone committed multiple murderess with witnesses present, but no witness ever stepped up. No one ever stepped up because they knew if you crossed Capone you would disappear. Al Capone's legacy was how dangerous and powerful of a man he was. Capone said he had about half of the police in Chicago working for me. He would rig elections to get people that where on his side to be elected. He pretty much ran the city of Chicago, and no man has ever done that in the United States. Capone was an untouchable during his time on the top. He was a gangster who was actually liked by his city. Capone was cheered when seen at ball games and he gave a lot of money to charities. Al Capone is known in history as being the most powerful gangster in American history. He is known as this in the way he ran his gang with extreme violence. He could kill anyone who got in his way with no repercussions, and was seen in the public as a modern day Robin Hood. Al Capone was a gangster who turned his gang into a company and was brutally violent to get it there.
